How can Music Together classes nurture my child's music development?
Music Together classes build on your child's natural enthusiasm for music and movement.
Music Together asserts that all children are musical and learn best from the example of the adults closest to them, in an informal atmosphere, and recognizes that all children can develop competence in music.
By emphasizing actual music experiences through active participation rather than concepts about music, Music Together introduces children to the pleasures of making music instead of passively receiving it from CD's or TV, helping to prepare your child for a lifetime of musical enjoyment.
The program brings families together by providing a rich musical environment in the classroom and by facilitating family participation in spontaneous musical activity at home within the context of daily life.
Educators recognize that music is educationally stimulating on many levels for a developing child.
Music Together is a playful, developmentally appropriate, thoroughly researched program. But most of all, it's fun time together for you and your children!
A "Sing With B" Music Together class is...
Mixed-aged Music Together classes for Infants through 5 year olds and their families.
About 9-12 families in each class. (approximately 10-12 children).
Activities focus on adult/child interaction.
A community of children and their families and teachers sharing songs, instrument play, rhythm chants, and movement activities in relaxed, playful, non-performance-oriented settings.
Music learned through developmentally appropriate activities that support and respect the unique learning styles of very young children.
Children participating at their own levels in mixed-age family-style classes.
Parents and caregivers contributing to the enrichment of their child's music of their own musical abilities.
A new song collection every semester for three years, featuring great arrangements of original and traditional songs in a wide variety of tonalities, meters, and cultural styles.
Pure family fun every week.
